Nashville SC game reports

Nashville SC earns a point after lackluster performance against the Seattle Sounders

Nashville SC and the Seattle Sounders both fail to provide much attacking threat on either side which sees Saturday night’s match end in a 0-0 draw. If not for a VAR reversal on a goal given on the field for the Sounders, Nashville would’ve came away with nothing.

Coming into Saturday night’s match Nashville SC had the chance to officially punch their ticket in the MLS playoffs with just a win against Seattle. After a nice quick road trip defeating Sporting KC & tying to San Jose, Nashville looked to continue their nice form. However even with a draw and some helps from a few other teams Nashville is locked into the playoffs for the fourth year in a row.

That form didn’t necessarily carry over at least in terms of attacking play, especially the threat they offered against Sporting KC. The attacking side of the pitch continues to be the biggest question mark for Nashville to be serious contenders in a loaded Eastern Confrence.

It seems like months and months ago when Nashville SC players Sam Surridge & Hany Mukhtar were connecting with ease back in the Leagues Cup run. However that connection has not carried over into MLS play and you can tell from the sidelines how frustrating it is for Nashville’s new striker. After coming off early into the second half the frustration from Surridge was clear and visible asking “Why am I coming off”?

Mukhtar who hasn’t been able to keep up the record breaking numbers like he was at the start of the season won’t be able to carry this attack on his own. He will need Nashville SC players like, Surridge, Jacob Shaffelburg, and Randall Leal to help replace those goals that Mukhtar was scoring at a record place.

Nashville will get a chance to respond to tonight’s draw on Wednesday night as they are back in action against at Geodis Park as Orlando City comes to town.
